- When I close my eyes I see colors and shapes... legs spiraling, birds on lines and explosions of color that splash from here while something stabs there. Art tears me open and cages me at once. My parents are artists, jewelers who carved a niche in Durango in the seventies. Growing up, I watched them create at all hours of the day and had their blessings on the projects I picked up. In Middle School I drew the human body -cells, organs, facial expression- to find coordination. In High School, I learned to cede control to the medium. At University, I fell in love with process, textures and repetition. My degree in printmaking afforded me a taste of patience and tradition. Adventure and love led me to travel.
